About Month After Announcement Of

About a month after the announcement of passing into the university, I was asked to choose among 4 departments: Department of Biological sciences (School of science), Department of Biotechnology (School of Engineering), Department of Applied Chemistry (School of Engineering), and Department of Chemistry (School of Science). I didn't have any problem in having to choose the first two on top of the latter two, however picking one out of those 2 was quite troublesome. Wanting to study genetics, I thought about getting into the biotechnology department, still, the thought of pursuing pure biology still lingers on my mind. In the end, after learning that there are not much difference for first year students and it is tentative (can be changed after the 3rd semester), I opted for the one in the school of sciences.

Now that I am here, I know that the difference only lies in your ID card which has your department written on it. Other than that, there's no difference until you are in your 3rd semester I guess? Well anyway it doesn't matter now for me at least anyway.

Also, after that, we had to confirm if we want to stay at the dorms or not, they automatically book a room so there's no need to worry. The dorm is also pretty nice, we also have a small kitchen and unit bathroom all in each room.

Around one month before I departed for Japan, I had to do the visa processing at the Japanese embassy in Jakarta. It took about a week until my visa was out and everything was done. Oh and for MEXT scholars: you have to go to the 2nd floor of the embassy (the library) and tell the officer that you're a MEXT scholar and they will check all your stuff before you are ready to go to the documents processing lockets.

I'm not sure if I had missed anything here, I'll edit and fix it if I had missed anything. See you then!
